Students will serve the common good by practicing a life that models Jesus Christ’s teachings.
Students will demonstrate the importance of growth, never settle for what is already known, and always seek improvement.
Students will be mindful of the local, state, and the global community to make the world a better place and act as a change-agent against wrongdoings in the community.
Students will speak and write ideas compassionately, clearly, creatively, and effectively. Students use technology as a tool for learning. Students listen with empathy and work cooperatively with others.
ELP-Kindergarten: Every student is expected to manage themselves in a caring, cooperative, and courteous manner. Homeroom teachers are responsible for teaching and reinforcing the “3-Cs” code of conduct while the students are responsible for its daily practice.
1st-8th Grade: The Student Behavioral Expectations further define the Saint Patrick School Code of Conduct in which every student is expected to manage themselves in a caring, cooperative, and courteous manner. The Behavioral Expectations are measured in alignment with SLEs, thus creating a seamless link between learning and managing oneself appropriately while at Saint Patrick School.
A CAREless Referral is issued to a student who has repeatedly shown difficulty in following student expectations.
STEP 1
Inability to comply with one or more of the Behavioral Expectations-
Removal from the classroom and sent to the Dean of Students for advising with a documented CAREless Referral. The student is required to have the referral signed by the parent(s) and returned the next day to the Dean of Students. The classroom teacher is expected to contact the child’s home. The student’s name is to be withdrawn for the semesterly CAREful Award.
STEP 2
Further inability to comply with one or more of the Behavioral Expectations- Removal from the classroom with a CAREless Referral and sent to the Dean of Students for advising and to personally telephone parents. Students may serve (1) 45-minute afternoon detention on the following school day, depending on the infraction. The student is required to have the CAREless Referral signed by parents and returned the next day. The school’s Dean of Students will contact home.
