At St. Patrick School we strive to be at the forefront of technology. Our campus was recently upgraded with Oceanic’s blanket wifi system. This means that anywhere on our campus, our students have access to complete their class assignments. Our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program is implemented with our 4th through 8th classes. After much research and a pilot program in the 4th grade, it was decided that Google Chromebooks would be used as our device of choice for student learning. In additiona, over 35 Chromebooks our placed within the Kindergarten through 3rd classes.
Google Apps for Education is used between all facutly, staff, and students on our campus. Upper grade students are given a personal gmail account that is monitored and protected within the St. Patrick School domain. All student work is typed, created, and shared with teachers through the Google Apps system. Most importantly, all textbooks for grades 4th through 8th grade are completly online and manged through the student’s Chromebook device. Our students can literally access their homebook anywhere in the world!
