Academy

The Teaching Academy began in 1997 with a partnership between Alii Institute (a professional development resource) and Saint Ann School in Kaneohe.  The partnership has expanded to a cohort of schools intensely interested in research based instruction.

The Teaching Academy is for teachers wanting a fresh face to their teaching and learning environment in the classroom.  Topics presented include: elements of Cooperative Learning, 21st Century skills integration, Formative assessment, RtI strategies that work, Classroom management and discipline., Collaborative partnerships, structures for guided practice, and inter-dependent communication skills.

The Teaching Academy is a Federal Government Title II Professional Development program.  Participants may apply for Title IIA Professional Development grants.
